September is Skin Care Awareness Month

Септември - месецът на осведоменост за грижата за кожата

Besides the end of summer, the start of school, and the return to work, September is officially the month to learn something new about your skin and how to take care of it! Why September? On the one hand, the previous summer months and the many trips interfere with our routine. During the summer, skin easily gets dirty, and let's not forget the damage from the harsh sun rays. On the other hand, the upcoming autumn weather requires a change in our approach to skin care, because cooler and drier air is coming. That's why September is the perfect checkpoint to pay special attention to your skin and restart your routine. And if we have to be honest, this month always feels like the beginning of a new period, right?

Adjust your routine to seasonal changes.

Changes in humidity and temperature will definitely affect your skin, but you don't need to make drastic changes to your routine. Don't stop applying a moisturizer with SPF50+ during the day, skipping this step during the cold months is the main mistake most people make. After all, the sun doesn't suddenly disappear after August. In fact, the sun gets closer to the Earth between July and January. Don't forget to moisturize your skin with serum and cream in the evening too. Stick to your routine regularly and you'll get through fall and winter without a problem!

This fall, pay attention to nutrition.

Healthy, beautiful skin is directly related to our inner health, both physical and emotional (we all hate those pesky pimples that pop up from stress before an important event). The best ways to maintain balance in our bodies are through good nutrition and quality sleep. We’ve already talked about how processed foods and sugar can contribute to acne, inflammation, and other skin problems. On the other hand, many fruits and vegetables (which are in abundance in the fall) can be beneficial for your skin and reduce inflammation. Here’s a challenge: Try tracking what you eat in September to determine which foods are good for your skin and which aren’t.

Don't neglect your sleep.

The fall season is also known as the best time to sleep - it's not too hot or cold, but it's very cozy. This is great news for your skin, as getting enough sleep on a regular basis is crucial for both its recovery and your entire body.

Sports and your skin.

Regular exercise has been shown to keep skin healthy and youthful. Try to include at least 30 minutes of exercise in your day. This will keep your blood flowing, which contributes to your skin's good appearance.

Treat yourself to an appointment with a beautician/dermatologist.

What better time than Skin Care Awareness Month? And the end of summer is the perfect time to cleanse your skin of accumulated dirt from sweat, sand, water, and more. Go for a deep cleanse and hydrating treatment. You can't go wrong.

We know that a busy daily life can mess up the perfect skincare routine, workouts, and proper nutrition. It's important not to give up and take the gaps as extra motivation! Missed facial hydration in the evening = mask for extra care the next day. Missed workout = 10 more minutes the next day. Let's act!
