September - Skin Care Awareness Month

Besides the end of summer, the start of school, the return to work, September is officially the month to learn something new about our skin and how to take care of it! Why September? For one, the previous summer months and lots of traveling interfere with our routine. In the summer, the skin gets dirty easily, and let's not forget the damage from the harsh sun rays. On the other hand, the upcoming autumn weather necessitates a change in our approach to skin care because cooler and drier air is coming. That's why September is the perfect checkpoint to pay special attention to your skin and reboot your routine. And to be honest, this month always feels like the start of a new period, doesn't it?
Adjust your routine to seasonal changes.
Changes in humidity and temperature are bound to affect your skin, but you don't have to make grand changes to your routine. Don't stop applying SPF50+ moisturiser during the day, switching this step off during the colder months is the main mistake most people make. After all, the sun doesn't suddenly disappear after August. In fact, the sun gets closer to the Earth between July and January. In the evenings, be sure to hydrate your skin with serum and cream, too. Follow your routine regularly and you'll get through fall and winter without a problem!
This fall, pay attention to nutrition.
Healthy and beautiful skin is directly linked to our inner health, both physical and emotional (we all hate those nasty pimples we get from stress before an important event). The best ways to maintain balance in our body is good nutrition and quality sleep. We've already talked about how processed foods and sugar can contribute to acne, inflammation and other skin problems. Conversely, many fruits and vegetables (which are abundant in the fall) can be beneficial to the skin and reduce inflammation. Here's a challenge: Try to keep track of what you eat in September to determine which foods are good for your skin and which aren't.
Do not neglect your sleep.
The autumn season is also known as the best time to sleep - it's not too warm or cold, but it's very cosy. This is great news for your skin, as getting enough sleep on a regular basis is crucial for both its recovery and your whole body.
Sport and your skin.
Regular exercise has been proven to keep skin healthy and young. Try to include at least 30 minutes of exercise in your day. This keeps the blood flowing, which contributes to good looking skin.
Pamper yourself with an appointment with a beautician/dermatologist.
What better time than skincare awareness month? And the end of summer is the perfect time to cleanse your skin of accumulated pollution from sweat, sand, water and more. Opt for a deep cleanse and hydrating treatment. You can't go wrong.
We know that a hectic daily routine can mess up the perfect skincare routine, workouts and proper nutrition. It's important not to give up and take the gaps as extra motivation! Skipping moisturizing your face at night = extra care mask the next day. Missed workout = 10 more minutes the next day. Let's act!
