5 essential tips for skin care in autumn

Along with the change of season, the appearance of our skin changes, have you noticed? The environment has a lot to do with how it feels and how it looks. When it's hot and humid, skin can feel oily from excess moisture. When it's cold and dry, skin feels parched and thirsty for hydration. Not to mention other environmental stressors such as air pollution, sun exposure, air conditioning, etc. Your skin needs to adapt to the new weather conditions, but you can help it by using our tips.
1. Hydrate from the inside out
Autumn weather can be unpredictable. Will it rain, will the sun shine or will the wind blow? One thing is for sure - your skin will need hydration! As the temperature and humidity levels gradually decrease, so does the moisture content of our skin. This can lead to uncomfortable dryness and flaking of the skin. And as our skin gets drier and drier, it creates excess sebum to compensate. And this in turn leads to the appearance of imperfections.
To help your skin fight this, try drinking more water. Eat foods that also hydrate the skin - tomatoes, cucumbers, leafy greens, citrus. Invest in a good moisturiser and use it every morning and night!
2. SPF stays in the game!
You should apply an SPF product every day as this will prevent the damage from free radicals that accelerate skin aging. Even when it's windy, snowy or rainy, you still need SPF, as sunlight penetrates through both cloudy skies and the window.
3. Avoid aggressive cosmetic procedures
In autumn, the skin is more vulnerable due to climate changes and lower temperatures. It's time to focus on light and nourishing treatments that will keep skin healthy and glowing. Opt for a face mask that has no harsh particles and quite gently cleanses and nourishes the skin. A little hint - ours is just that ;).
4. Don't forget about your body
Skincare routines often revolve around your face, but don't forget about your body. The best time to apply body lotion is right when you get out of the shower. While your skin is still damp, apply a generous amount of body lotion to your skin.
5. Your lips also need protection
One of the first signs that many people experience when the seasons change is chapped lips. Keep lip balm in your purse or pocket at all times and reapply throughout the day. This will not only hydrate your lips, but protect them as well.
